The Government of the Virgin Islands invites qualified and professional applicants to apply for the post of Building Inspector, Public Works.
Main responsibilities include:
v Inspects all buildings and structures of all levels of complexity for compliance to the Building Regulation 1999 and any other referenced Code.
v Checks methods and quality of materials used in construction.
v Maintains records of construction activities and submits reports monthly.
v Ensures plans submitted to Building Authority confirms to Building Regulation 1999 before plans are approved.
v Attends meetings as required by supervisor.
v Consults with and advises the public on the Building Regulations 1999.
v Ensures that all safety rules and regulations are adhere to on construction cites.
v Assists in supervising the daily functions and activities of the Building Authority section.
v Assists with training the Building Authority staff.
v Performs other related duties as assigned from time to time.
