The Government of the Virgin Islands invites qualified and professional applicants to apply for the post of Assistant Secretary/Recording Secretary, Cabinet Office.

Main responsibilities include:

v Prepares draft minutes for Cabinet Meetings
v Prepares revised Cabinet minutes in consultation with the Cabinet Secretary
v Prepares draft minutes for the national Security Council (NSC) Meetings
v Prepares revised National Security Council minutes in consultation with the Cabinet Secretary.
v Distributes revised Cabinet and NSC minutes to member
v Prepares, distributes and updates the NSC Checklist of Actions.
v Prepares, updates and distributes Cabinet Checklist of Actions.


v Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law or Public Administration or related field
v Five (5) years relevant experience or senior management level
v Extensive knowledge of the roles of Government, Parliament and Cabinet and associated processes and procedures
v Sound knowledge of national politics, acts, conventions, legislation, rules and regulations
v Highly developed written and oral communication skills, to successfully liaise with Ministers and senior public senior officers
v Extremely strong and confident writing skills
v Ability to meet tight deadlines
v Ability to work under pressure, to coordinate and to organise
v Highly developed interpersonal skills, including flexibility and the ability to exercise tact and discretion in providing advice in a timely manner, in a highly sensitive environment
v Sound analytical, decision-making and problem


v Entry level $47,371 – $53,247 annually, Grade 14 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
