Duties of the post include:
1. Managing the Administrative Systems of the Office of the Deputy Principal.
2. Preparing agendas and taking minutes of meetings which the Deputy Principal chairs.
3. Overseeing the general running of the Office of the Deputy Principal including supervising clerical and support staff.
4. Working in close collaboration with the Programme and Outreach Officer in relation to the projects of the Deputy Principal’s Office.
5. Preparing correspondence and following up on actions arising from meetings chaired by the Deputy Principal.
6. Maintaining accurate records related to the work of the committees and the meetings in which the Deputy Principal is involved.
7. Drafting of specific correspondence.
8. Organizing meetings, seminars and conferences involving local, international and regional personnel.
9. Liaising with International, Regional and National agencies which collaborate with the UWI in its research and outreach programmes.
10. Liaising with the Mona, Cave Hill and Open Campuses on inter-campus matters related to the Deputy Principal’s responsibilities.
11. Preparing reports as required.
12. Overseeing financial and budgetary matters of the Office of the Deputy Principal.
13. Liaising with relevant University departments and offices as needed.
14. Handling student matters in the absence of the Administrative Assistant (Student matters).
15. Performing any other related duties that may be assigned by the Deputy Principal.
