Communications Officer, Trinidad

The Communications Officer participates in the implementation of the corporate communications strategy, as well as in the design, management and implementation of the Country Office communications strategy geared towards influencing the development agenda and promote public and media outreach.

Expected Outcomes
Planning and design of internal and external strategies for communications and outreach focusing on achievement of the following results:
• Conduct of communications needs assessments for CO (projects, country programme and corporate change initiatives).
• Analysis of requirements and synthesis of proposals for elaboration of the CO communications and outreach strategy based on the corporate communications strategy.
• Development/production of communication and advocacy instruments and materials for awareness-raising campaigns, brochures, including briefing materials, press releases and media interviews in coordination with the relevant units.

Key Functions:
• Plans, directs, implements and evaluates a comprehensive pharmacy program consisting of a large and complex drug distribution system and clinical pharmacy services of substantial scope.
• Develops, implements and reviews pharmacy policy and procedures to ensure that the services conform to facility needs, and legislation.
• Supervises, directly and through subordinates, professional pharmacists and subordinate pharmacy staff involved in preparing and dispensing medication and providing clinical pharmacy services such as patient education and counseling, drug use reviews, pharmacokinetics, and pharmaceutical consultations.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant legislation.
• Maintains pharmacy records according to facility and regulating and accrediting agency guidelines.
• Performs related work as required.

Key Duties:
• Analyses, prepares and inputs payroll data. Typically uses automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll.

• Compiles time sheets and calculates overtime and offshore premiums.
• Maintains payroll records.
• Completes correspondence regarding payroll information for Taxes (PAYE), National Insurance (NIS), Board of Inland Revenue, etc.
• Liaises with respective Statutory Authorities for issuance of Tax Clearing Certificates, Compliance Certificates etc
• Maintenance of NMWG Savings Plan Database
