Assistant Store Manager, Jamaica

Overseeing the performance of assigned departments to ensure their growth and profitability

Assisting in the overall management of the daily operations of the store to ensure the building of customer and brand loyalty, increase in productivity and overall profitability of the store.

Supervises departmental heads, ensuring that departmental targets are met and all standard operating procedures are adhered to.

Assists the Store Manager in reducing operational expenses including shrinkage, labour cost and other overheads.

Keeps abreast of customer needs, forecasts demand and ensures that adequate inventory levels are maintained.

Analyses sales, valuation and inventory reports; makes appropriate recommendations and takes corrective action as appropriate.

Ensures the expeditious resolution of all customer related issues.

Category Manager, Jamaica

The Category Manager will be responsible for a specific product category which includes the selection, cost and price management, merchandising and store promotional activities. The incumbent will be required to recommend and/or make key decisions that impact specific aspects of the Category Department, not limited to the development and execution of marketing activities geared towards the achievement of the sales and profitability objectives of the his/her specific Category but ultimately the Chain.

Qualifications
• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounts, Finance, Marketing or Management Studies
• Four (4) years’ experience in operations of a retail food business, or in marketing would be an asset
• Sound knowledge of the retail market and distribution of consumer goods
• Working knowledge of general accounting principles
• Sound analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to manipulate and interpret data
• Ability to negotiate well, and to communicate effectively in both oral and written format
• High level of initiative and excellent time management skills
• Results oriented
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
