The Human Resources Department Supervisor will report directly to the Store Manager and work closely with the store team on all HR functions and responsibilities. The primary day to day purpose and focus of this position is largely dictated by season and on the immediate needs of the business.

Responsibilities:

Staffing
· Work with the Store Manager and Assistant Managers to develop hiring strategy to ensure staffing levels are maintained and to minimize hourly turnover
· Source, screen and interview applicants using the competency based interview guidelines found in hiring guide and through the group interview process
· Review and maintain Applicant tracking system
· Regularly schedule external recruiting in various selling oriented organizations to attract top talent
· Maintain store staffing to numbers required by store staffing model

Development:
· Conduct on-board orientation of new Team Members. Ensure use, execution, maintenance and administration of the on-boarding process through the learning management system.
· Lead the training and development of all Team Members to ensure compliance to the company’s service/product knowledge and selling skills training standards
· Deliver and follow-up on various product knowledge learning initiatives rolled out throughout the year
· Responsible for the tracking of all required training through the R Learning System.

The Department Supervisor is responsible for working with team members on guest services, selling skills and product knowledge. This position is expected to perform a wide variety of activities aimed at driving sales and promoting and managing the training and development of associates in a specific department. The Department Supervisor will serve as the subject matter expert and is responsible for ensuring that all business initiatives are implemented and executed per Company standards.

The Department Supervisor is a full time position and requires full availability including nights and weekends. This position reports directly to the Assistant Store Manager and is expected to coordinate and deliver department training to associates. Department Supervisors will spend the majority of their time (90%) working on the sales floor, devoting approximately 2/3 of that time to selling activities during peak traffic hours.

Responsibilities:
· Performs daily walk of department
· Promotes store sales and profit goals
· Conduct selling skills training, guest service and product knowledge training for all department associates.
· Trains all associates on merchandising standards
· Exhibit an ownership attitude by promoting partnerships with store management.
· Deliver excellence in guest services, including decision making/problem solving skills for service recovery.
· Conduct training for administrative procedures.

The Assistant Store Manager is part of the management team that will be responsible for the overall daily operations of the total store while creating an amazing employee and customer experience. In addition, in the absence of the store manager, the Assistant Manager has complete accountability for store operations and management.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:
– Inspire and lead a diverse, high energy, genuinely friendly, customer-centric team.
– Direct and allocate work of employees to meet customer needs and to enhance the Microsoft Retail experience. Recognize and make adjustments throughout the workday as required.
– Build and establish amazing relationships with employees, customers, vendors/suppliers, Corporate partners, and community organizations.
– Coaching and managing a great team of customer associates 50% or more of your time, including managing 10-15 direct reports (depending on store size).
– Foster a continuous learning environment through ongoing formal and informal employee training that delivers the most knowledgeable and skilled team in retail.
– Provide recognition and critical feedback, development and growth opportunities focused on producing the next team of leaders and reducing turnover to below 20% annually.
