Executive Director, Barbados

The ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of twelve (12) years of management experience with at least seven (7) years at a senior management level in the private or public sector or in a regional, international or multi-lateral organization

• Masters degree in Disaster Management, Geo-Sciences, Earth Science, Environment Management or related field.

• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in project management

• Strong record of successful Resource Mobilization

• Demonstrated experience in policy formulation

The Executive Director will also have:

• Good knowledge and understanding of regional disaster management systems

• Demonstrated understanding of inter-governmental, regional and international institutions and systems

• Extensive knowledge of current management trends and best practices, including change management and leadership development

• Excellent knowledge of Strategic Planning

• Excellent knowledge of programme management and evaluation, project management including project planning and development, programme budgeting and Results Based Management

• Demonstrated evidence of creative thinking and visionary leadership.

• Excellent oral and written command of the English language. Proficiency in a foreign language would be an asset;

• A capacity for independent thought and action and the ability to render professional advice

• Excellent negotiating and networking skills

• Strong analytical/problem solving and interpersonal skills

• Successful track record of team management and leadership

• Knowledge and effective use of computerized systems

• Appreciation of workplace diversity

Assistant Bar Manager, Cruise Ship

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Directs, coaches, supports and supervises the performance of head bartenders, sommeliers, and bar staff, while managing the Bar Department alongside the Bar Manager and assisting in daily operation of entire bar operation shipboard and on outer islands
• Maintains control of consumption of beverage supplies, maintainence, and beverage stocks and ordering
• Must have knowledge of computer systems and equipment in order to ensure systems are properly maintained and report malfunctions
• Familiar with accounting procedures, time and attendance procedures, and has knowledge of ship’s standard operation to ensure compliance and guest total satisfaction
• Identifies expense reductions, analyzes operational issues and attends training, meetings and work-related activities
• Responsible to perform in accordance with Azamara’s highest quality standards for service and style

Hiring Requirements:
• Minimum of five years beverage-related experience

• Completion of high school or basic education equivalency
• Ability to analyze reports and documents related to the position
• Ability to speak, read and write English clearly and distinctly
• Must be physically able to participate in emergency life saving drills, safety activities and training

Head Bartender, Cruise Ship

• Directs, coaches, supports and supervises the performance of bartenders, bar servers and bar utilities, as well as overseeing the bars and lounges assigned by the bar managers.
• Uses a hands-on approach working directly with the bar staff during busy hours, as well as providing coverage during meal hours using complete knowledge of bartending and wine service techniques and fundamentals.
