Manager II – Accounting and Financial Operations, Jamaica

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager II, Accounting and Financial Operations, the appointee will be responsible for the purchasing, payables, cheque processing and fixed assets activities for all the UWI Centre Departments. In addition, the incumbent will assist in the preparation of Financial Statements for the University Centre, as well as the Consolidated Financial Statements of the University of the West Indies for the quarterly meetings of the University Finance and General Purposes Committee (UFGPC), the external audit and the annual Business Meeting of University Council.

Desired qualifications and experience:
Ø A certified or Chartered Accountant certification
Ø A university degree majoring in Accounting
Ø A minimum of three (3) years accounting experience at the supervisory level

Skills required of the Manager II – Accounting and Financial Operations:
Ø Good understanding of computerized accounting systems
Ø Some knowledge of management principles and practices
Ø Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ø Proven communication (written & verbal) and excellent interpersonal skills
