Lecturer in Child Dental Health (Paediatric Dentistry), Trinidad

Basic degree in Dentistry (BDS/DDS) Postgraduate qualification in the specialty (MSc/MClin Dent). Must be able to obtain license to practice in Trinidad and Tobago.

Experience:
o Clinical teaching to undergraduates
o Research
o Management of complex cases in Paediatric Dentistry.

Special Expertise/Responsibilities:
Paediatric dentistry. Sedation anesthesia. Treatment of children under general anesthesia.

Personal attributes:
Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with medical and dental peers and work as a team.

Certified Nurse Midwife, St. Thomas

This person assumes responsibility and accountability for the duties of the position and is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives, and policies of the Schneider Regional Medical Center and their respective Department. Provides comprehensive primary patient care and education to assigned caseload of obstetrical and gynecological patients. Demonstrates clinical competence in the management of the low risk obstetrical patient during the ante partum, intra partum and postpartum period and the ability to co-manage the high risk patient in collaboration with the attending obstetrician when indicated. Documents assessments which accurately determines the patient’s condition and reflects knowledge of current nursing practice standards. Documents a comprehensive, goal oriented plan of care which is outcome based and meets the patient’s needs throughout the course of treatment. Demonstrates the ability to assess the newborn and render emergency care when indicated. Delegates tasks/assignments to staff as appropriate. Follows up on assigned tasks to insure successful patient outcomes. Must have a current VI CNA certification. Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer BLS and NRP certifications. Must be comfortable working with computers.

Experience:
• Minimum three to five years experience in general dental practice;
• Teaching and research, with a publication records.
• Involvement in Oral Health Promotion activities will be an asset.

Special Responsibilities:
• The incumbent will provide treatment to special needs patients;
• Provide administrative assistance to the clinic;
• Teach undergraduate students under the umbrella of the Child Dental Health Unit;
• Provide teaching to Dental Auxiliary personnel, clinical supervision to students and assist in research.
