Demonstrates clinical competence in the management of the low risk obstetrical patient during the ante partum, intra partum and postpartum period and the ability to co-manage the high risk patient in collaboration with the attending obstetrician when indicated.

 

Registered Nurse, Trinidad

The Registered Nurse will report to the Nurse in charge of the Ward or Senior Nurse at the District Health Facility or Health Centre. He/she is responsible for working along with the Nurse in Charge to perform midwifery activities. Work involves administering medicines, assisting at operations and other similar duties in the care and treatment of patients; some supervision is exercised over sub-professional staff such as student’s nurses, nurse’s aides or other workers engaged in the care and treatment of patients. Duties are performed in accordance with established rules and regulations, standard practices of the profession and in accordance with detailed instruction from a professional superior, who reviews work for the maintenance of standards and adherence to instructions.

Registrar – Emergency Medicine, Trinidad

The incumbent will report to the Specialist Medical Officer in the department and will be responsible for administering medical treatment to patients at the Hospital in the specialist field of study. Work entails the conduct of medical procedures, assessments and tests and the evaluation of examinations for diagnoses. Demonstrates the ability to assess the newborn and render emergency care when indicated. Delegates tasks/assignments to staff as appropriate. Follows up on assigned tasks to insure successful patient outcomes. Must have a current VI CNA certification. Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer BLS and NRP certifications. Must be comfortable working with computers.

Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Emergency Medicine, Trinidad

Adult Emergency Medicine:
American Board Certification, FCEM, DM (Surgery) or equivalent from a recognized institution. Postgraduate qualification the Discipline is essential.

The Regional Manager Pharmacy Services is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a drug distribution system that meets facility needs and the requirements of regulating agencies. The Officer is responsible for administering a clinical pharmacy program consisting of patient education and counseling, drug use reviews and pharmaceutical consultations. The Officer is also required to develop, implement and maintain an in-service education and training program for pharmacy staff and students. The Regional Manager Pharmacy Services is also required to supervise professional pharmacy staff involved in clinical pharmacy activities and other support staff.

Key Functions:
• Plans, directs, implements and evaluates a comprehensive pharmacy program consisting of a large and complex drug distribution system and clinical pharmacy services of substantial scope.
• Develops, implements and reviews pharmacy policy and procedures to ensure that the services conform to facility needs, and legislation.
• Supervises, directly and through subordinates, professional pharmacists and subordinate pharmacy staff involved in preparing and dispensing medication and providing clinical pharmacy services such as patient education and counseling, drug use reviews, pharmacokinetics, and pharmaceutical consultations.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant legislation.
• Maintains pharmacy records according to facility and regulating and accrediting agency guidelines.
• Performs related work as required.
