To coordinate a Child-Centered Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Project for an initial period of 3 years in order to support ChildFund in its work towards securing the rights of girls and young women to live free from sexual violence through building knowledge, skills and values of staff and communities to engage in the complex task of preventing it.

Principal Responsibilities will include Lead Assessment/ Mapping, Participatory project design, implementation and evaluation, Strengthen Competencies of ChildFund Staff, Networking and Partnership Building, Strengthen Competencies of Partners, Advocacy, and Program Strengthening.

The Project Manager’s Required Skills, Experience and Qualities should include at least 5 years of experience managing or providing technical support to child protection or gender-based violence programs, Excellent networking, coordination and facilitation skills, Knowledge and experience in participatory community education and mobilization methodologies, Post-secondary degree in relevant field of study, Project management skills including participatory assessment, planning, design and evaluation and budget management and must be able to work independently with limited supervision.

Duties
Under the supervision of the Attorney General, Ministry of Tourism and Legal Affairs, the Solicitor General shall be responsible for:
• Giving legal advice and prepares legal documents;
• Advising on Law Reform and Law Revision matters;
• Representing Government in civil proceedings;
• Training junior lawyers;
• Attempting harmonization of legislation in the OECS/CARICOM region by carrying out comparative studies.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
• A Masters Degree in Law or Legal Education from a recognized university and Certificate in Legal Education
• Two (5) years or more experience in the legal field
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Ability to Interpret and apply laws
• Computer literacy

Major responsibilities
• Provide advice to the Head of Global Private Banking Bermuda in respect of commercial decisions to be taken that affect existing, closed and proposed business
• Act as a senior technical specialist within the Fiduciary Services Unit (FSU), providing support to Wealth Planners (WP), the Business Implementation Unit (BIU) and Trust Relationship Managers (TRM) namely, process, implementation and technical issues around planning and the customising of solutions for complex client structuring / tax planning requirements
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert and Advisor for the development and co-ordination of the PWS Business Model and Policies for Core and Non-Core Solutions. Advising and providing support to TRMs with respect to legacy issues, specifically, tax related trust issues and the available solutions. Must possess a strong working knowledge of G20 country tax rules and their relevance to Trust structures
• Act as the interface for PWS Bermuda with external regulators as it pertains to offshore Trust entities and providing technical expertise on all Trust related litigation matters for both the business and legal department, as well as all Trust related compliance matters for both the business and Bermuda compliance
• Maintain an in depth understanding of the GPB / PWS client base and business risk issues, including economic, operational, legal, regulatory and tax trends and assisting in the development of strategic initiatives for PWS Bermuda and PWS Europe
• Develop technical training materials and deliver training to GPB / PWS staff, both locally and globally as required.

Duties

§ Reviewing consultant’s reports on various reform initiatives undertaken as part of the Growth and Social Protection Strategy
§ Produce draft legislation facilitating the reform process as instructed
§ Advise the Chief Personnel Officer or her designated representative, where in the opinion of the drafter, new bills or amendments may conflict with existing legislation
§ Review and draft Contracts and other legal documents
§ Make presentations to Cabinet and Committee of Permanent Secretaries and other stakeholders on legislative issues when necessary

Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required:

§ A law degree from a recognized university preference will be given to an individual enrolled as an advocate by a Supreme Court or called to the bar by a legal professional association
§ Ten (10) years working experience of legal drafting preferably in Commonwealth countries using the Westminster model parliamentary democracy
§ Experience in legislative drafting in the Caribbean Region
§ The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate a successful track record in drafting legislation
§ Computer literacy is essential

Terms

Successful candidates will be contracted for a period of one (1) year in the first instance with the possibility of renewal upon satisfactory performance. Salaries will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
