The candidate will also prepare attendance records, travel authorizations, purchase and check requisitions, requests for leave, and personnel requisitions; submit progress and termination reports for federally funded projects; maintain and upgrade office equipment; purchase supplies; schedule rooms for seminars, workshops and meetings; and manage aquaculture short course enrollment. The candidate will coordinate and record minutes of stakeholder meetings; maintain and update AES mailing list, distribute AES publications, keep files of AES newspaper clippings; serve as receptionist for visitors and phone inquiries; manage mail; update and organize files; attend USDA NIFA Administrative Officers’ Meetings; write memos, letters and special reports; and perform other duties as assigned.

Documents a comprehensive, goal oriented plan of care which is outcome based and meets the patientā€™s needs throughout the course of treatment. Demonstrates the ability to assess the newborn and render emergency care when indicated. Delegates tasks/assignments to staff as appropriate. Follows up on assigned tasks to insure successful patient outcomes. Must have a current VI CNA certification. Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer BLS and NRP certifications. Must be comfortable working with computers.

ā€¢ Serves violators Orders for Corrective Actions (OCA), Notices of Non-Compliance (NONC) and other Administrative Orders (AO).
ā€¢ Indentifies and recommends penalties for environmental damages caused by violators
ā€¢ Initiates injunctive actions to halt and limit environmental damages, and prescribes remedial actions as necessary to restore appropriate environmental conditions.
ā€¢ Review all Environmental Enforcement Officers work orders, investigates reports and complies and prepares monthly summaries of activities.
ā€¢ Prepares work schedules for approval by Division Director and/or Senior Compliance Officer.
ā€¢ Provides oversight, leadership, guidance and assistance to Environmental Enforcement Officers and trainee while in the field

The successful candidate will provide formal and informal instruction on occupational safety and health with the goal of eliminating or reducing hazards, fatalities, injuries and illnesses in US Virgin Islands workplaces; performs consultations and inspections to identify violations of federal and state safety and health regulations; reviews workplace safety management systems and develops appropriate recommendations for customer implementation and/or improvement of required safety and health programs; develops and makes presentations; and conducts sampling as required.

The candidate will also develop and implement Territory-wide external training and education programs for small businesses throughout the US Virgin Islands; plan, organize, manage and conduct on-site consultations, training, and follow up visits to achieve the established goals set out in the annual “Consultation Annual Project Plan”; provides outreach sessions on new standards, directives and other topics of current interest, both independently and in conjunction with stakeholders; coordinate seminars, conferences and other training activities for business clients and other key stakeholders; and perform other related duties.

Qualifications Required
A Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization (industrial hygiene or a branch of engineering, physical science, life science or environmental science) and a minimum of 3 years of appropriate experience in Occupational Safety and Health is required. A minimum of five years of experience with regulations of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration is preferred. Experience in adult education or training and a commitment to an on-the-job professional development program; certified Industrial Hygienist or Safety Specialist and certified OSHA Trainer in one or more areas is also preferred.
